Virtual power plants in Maryland

Maryland is in the PJM region; BGE, Pepco, Delmarva and Potomac Edison are its main utilities. Under the 2024 DRIVE Act, utilities filed VPP-style pilots for batteries, EVs and smart devices; SEPA reports regulators partially approved those plans in May-June 2026, and a separate PSC order is building data-sharing rules for third-party aggregators. Today the clearest homeowner offer is the state's storage rebate from the Maryland Energy Administration.
