PJM
Virtual power plants in Ohio
Ohio is in the PJM region and has residential retail electric choice; its main distribution utilities include AEP Ohio, Duke Energy Ohio, FirstEnergy's companies (Ohio Edison, CEI, Toledo Edison) and AES Ohio. A 2019 law ended utility demand-side management programs, and efforts to bring back voluntary programs have been 'largely unsuccessful'. No residential battery VPP or utility thermostat program open to homeowners was confirmed.
